The ankle protection this AKU Pilgrim HL GTX is delivered by the specially designed high leg upper. Manufactured in Europe by Italian bootmaker AKU, the Pilgrim HL GTX performs well in demanding and dynamic conditions. This boot is a High Leg version of the lower version issued to dismounted personnel in the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy.

AKU GTX high leg boots in UK Military brown

I bought a pair of hi-leg AKU GTX from Uniformstores - who at the time gave the best description/photos of these excellent 2020 new model boots used by the British military which come with free postage. The GTX stands for Goretex. Uniformstores where the first to get the newer model boot as far as I could research online and the price was the same as the earlier model still being sold by competitors. These boots are better than issue ones in my opinion and look & support better with the HL. Rapid delivery; no problems.
