What does MTP stand for?

Multi Terrain Pattern, which replaced the UK Armed Forces standard camouflage for combat uniforms across all three services around 2015.

What are trousers twists?

Trousers Twists are used to tuck away excess trouser length under the twists. They are attached around the boot with the trouser fabric then pushed up underneath.

How to polish cadet boots?

Boots should be brush free of any dirt and dried. Then a layer of polish should be applied with a ‘polish on brush’ and allowed to set. After around half an hour, using a fresh, clean brush, the boot can be brushed all over the polished areas which should deliver a polished shine.

What are combat trousers?

Combat trousers commonly feature large side leg trousers pockets, strengthened areas such as the knees and on any tear points along with features such as large and robust belt loops. This makes then suitable for wear by soldiers and tactical users. Usually available in various camouflage and tactical colours.

How to measure for cadet uniform?

If you’re looking to purchase MTP uniform the shirt/jacket sizing is based the total height of the person followed by the chest size, all in cm’s.

What is an army surplus?

Army surplus is used army equipment (generally clothing) sold on at its end of life by an armed force. This makes it affordable to many other users and also puts it to good use once an armed forces has finished with it.

In the UK, most of the MTP Multi Terrain Pattern worn by cadets is army surplus and is in what is known as ‘grade 1’ condition meaning that it is worn but in useable condition.
